When Seahawk Supplies was established in 1987, as a fishing tackle shop, local angling clubs were just over their peak in terms of membership numbers. 100 peg open matches were still being held at Hyde Lane and the carp boom was just getting underway. Over 20 years later and Hyde Lane is a "closed water" for the majority and match fishing has all but been eradicated locally.
